This trip is for those travelers that are lovers of history, culture, city life and scenic coastal views. It is designed for those who want to explore at a leisurely pace while enjoying organized activities. This itinerary covers some of Portugal’s most charming and hidden locations.
You’ll arrive in Lisbon and have transportation waiting for you to take you to the hotel, where you’ll finally meet other members on the trip in person. The first day is for getting settled in and for strolling around the city at your leisure. So we don’t have much planned besides strolling around the Baixa and Chiado neighborhoods. You can visit Rossio square, Santa Justa Lift and Carmo Convent. Then we will have our first dinner together as a group before calling it a night. Unlike the Spanish, the Portuguese do tend to somewhat keep ‘regular hours’ for mealtimes, so we will get together earlier in the evening. **We recommend that you fly in and get settled by mid-afternoon.
Good Morning! Breakfast is on your terms, but of course we will give you a list of our favorite spots. Lisbon is one of the best cities in the world for Brunch using local produce, so you will be sure to have a good start to your day. As a group, we will meet afterwards with our guide for the day to explore Lisbon and learn more about the history of the city and visit the Alfama district, the Lisbon Cathedral, São Jorge Castle and the Miradouro de Santa Luzia. We will then break for the rest of the day and you will have the evening free to do as you please.
Today is a slow day of rest. You have the day free to explore around Lisbon as you wish. In the late afternoon, we will visit Belem and see Jeronimos Monastery, the Belem Tower and the Monument of the Discoveries. In the evening , you can walk along the riverside and have dinner in Belem.
After breakfast, we will make our way to Sintra and visit the Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle. We will have lunch in town and explore the historic center of the town. In the evening, we will head to Cabo da Roca (the westernmost point of continental Europe) to watch one of the most beautiful sunsets ever overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
Today we will head back to Sintra to visit the Quinta da Regaleira with its mystical gardens or visit the Palace of Monserrate. We will then spend the rest of the day in Azhenas do Mar, a picturesque seaside village known for its scenic views.
We will spend the day in Cascais. You will have the day to explore the charming town center, Boca do Inferno, the Condes De Castro Guimarães Museum and relax on the beach or visit the Cascáis Marina. Enjoy dinner at a seaside restaurant.
Today is another slow day of rest. You have the day free to explore around Lisbon or do some shopping. We will then meet in the evening for a Sunset river cruise and farewell dinner.
After an early breakfast and check-out from the hotel, we will say our goodbyes and head out to catch your flights back home. We hope you’ve truly enjoyed your trip with us and were able to relax and disconnect for a few days. And we hope to see you again soon on another trip.
